| The original
Jabberwocky poem by Lewis Carroll is such
a brilliant work because the Jabberwock
could be almost any kind of animal thus
leaving the imagination a free rein. However,
I felt so sorry for the poor beast that
I could not resist writing my own poem from
the Jabberwock’s perspective. Amongst
the illustrations are an orang-utan’s
eye and an axolotl’s hand. The images
are as ambiguous as possible and true to
my view of Lewis Carroll. |
